Jack Beats - Will Go Far

If you haven't heard of Jack Beats, why not?
I feel the need to boost this musical duo of Benny G and Plus One because I think they are awesome, and only just starting to get recognised. They recently did the Radio One minimix for Annie Mac's Friday slot, which you can catch on the radio one website ot Jack Beats' myspace.
It's real funky house with bassline's that just make you want to move. No wait, you need to move when you hear these tracks, and I don't mean out of the room, because you won't want to leave the sound they create.
I fell in love with their music a couple of years ago when I was cruising myspace. I went on Plus One's page, because I'm a massive fan of DMC, particularly his winning routine from 2001.
Plus One had some Jack Beats on his myspace, and it was like nothing Id heard before. When they do remixes they really do make the song their own, and give it a whole new dimension. They've only recently started to record original stuff and I'm really enjoying that too.

I think they are about to become really big as well, particularly with the exposure now from Radio One.

So basically, I've written this blog post for two reasons,
  1. To help expose Jack Beats because I feel they should be more well known
  2. I want to be cheeky and drop their name so when people search for Jack Beats my blog comes up, haha.

Caspa - Everybody's Talking, Nobody's Listening

So, finally, Caspa's brought the long awaited album out.

Yawn, to be honest.

Yes, there are some good tracks on there, but they aren't fresh, we all heard them ages ago when they were released on LP. The new tracks are inimaginative, grinding out the same beats and it just makes the album not worth buying.

I haven't dared spend money on the album, I've streamed the tracks when I was considering buying it, I'm glad I did too. Why would you buy an album where all the tracks you like on it are already on your hard drive, or even in your record crate?

I strongly believe that dubstep works a lot better in a mix anyway, it just flows better, I started listening through mixes and I will continue that way, it's difficult to appreciate a track completely on its own.

So, I wouldn't really recommend Caspa's album, especially if you already have Caspa & Rusko's Fabric, and regularly visit his myspace ;)

Which is by the way

Expect more Blogs...

Looks like I am going to lose my job, which really, really, sucks. However, something's gotta fill my time.
I have a few ideas what to do, but I think I'm going to put a lot more time into Blogging. Nothing particular to blog about, being at home all day, but just what's on my mind.

The company I work for, is all about ethics, I was under the impression they really cared for their employees. But the way it was handled, telling us by e-mail we'd be laid off, was very cowardly and uncaring in my opinion.

I've decided that I'll take the free time I've been gifted and will record my own album. Did a novelty rap song last summmer, that turned out more of a success than I anticipated. I can't share it because it has a very specific lyrics and you wouldn't understand it unless you knew about a certain "incident" that happened a while ago in a friend of mine's personal life.

Haha, jokes aside, the people that did understand the situation found it really clever and apparently, I have a decent rap voice. I've always tried to be a scratch DJ but rapping over an instrumental beat just comes more naturally to me.

I'm not about guns and hoes, non of that bollocks. I live in a smalll village, I don't see any of that. I rap about real things, they may be boring, but I make them flow and apparently it goes ok.

So watch out, there'll be a link to a myspace once I've set things up.
